What M0716 does on the machine

The driven spindle points along the Z axis, parallel to the lathe spindle. This is the configuration for face drilling, face tapping and end milling on the part face.

Offset body — the spindle centreline is stepped away from the turret station to reach past adjacent tooling.

Gear ratio 2:1 — the tool spindle turns at twice the turret drive speed. This is how a small-diameter drill or a solid-carbide end mill reaches sensible surface speed on a machine whose live-tool drive tops out too low.

Right-hand version. Handedness has to match the turret rotation and the station you intend to use; the opposite hand will index into the wrong quadrant.

Do not order against the label alone. “VDI30” fixes the shank per DIN 69880, but pocket depth, clamping system and drive coupling still vary between machine builders. Send Mongtec your machine model and a photograph of the turret face — engineering checks M0716 against the actual turret drawing before anything is quoted. That check is free and takes one email.

Machines with a VDI30 turret

Mongtec publishes tooling pages for these machines with a declared VDI30 turret. Confirming your model here does not confirm M0716 as the article number — that still comes from engineering.

Frequently asked

What machines does the Mongtec M0716 fit?

M0716 is built for the VDI30 turret interface. Because VDI shank dimensions follow DIN 69880, but turret pocket depth, clamping system and drive coupling still vary between machine builders. Send Mongtec your machine model and a photo of the turret face and engineering confirms the fit before anything is quoted.

What speed and torque can M0716 run?

M0716 is rated to 6,000 rpm with 40 Nm of torque at a 2:1 drive ratio. The usable figure is whichever is lower: this rating or your machine's live-tool drive rating.

What collet does M0716 take?

M0716 takes ER25 collets. Collets and nuts are supplied separately; specify the shank diameters you intend to run and Mongtec quotes the collet set with the holder.

Is a dimensioned drawing available for M0716?

Yes. Mongtec supplies the full dimensioned drawing for M0716 by email once an enquiry is open, so the drawing is matched to your actual machine and turret configuration rather than a generic sheet.

Get M0716 quoted

Send the machine model, the turret station you want to use and the tools you intend to run. Anything you do not know, Mongtec works out from the machine model — an incomplete enquiry is still worth sending. Dimensioned drawings for M0716 are supplied by email once the enquiry is open.
