What SK100(MZ) does

SK100(MZ) clamps the part on its outside diameter. The clamping element is a segmented rubber-vulcanized module: the segments are ground as one piece and then split, so every segment seats fully on the workpiece instead of contacting on three points. That is what holds run-out at ≤ 0.01 mm while still accepting ±0.5 mm of part-to-part variation.

The wide acceptance band is the reason this style of fixture suits automatic loading — a bar-fed or robot-loaded part that lands slightly off nominal is still clamped concentrically, where a conventional three-jaw or spring collet would either miss or clamp off-centre.

Removing the positioning block leaves a through-hole, so the same fixture also runs bar work.

Changing over

The clamping module is replaced without taking the fixture off the spindle. Changing the part size means changing the module, not re-setting the fixture — which is where the time is saved on short runs and mixed batches.

The fixture is standard; the flange is not. SK100(MZ) connects to your machine through a flange matched to your spindle nose. Send the machine model and spindle nose designation with your enquiry and the correct flange is quoted with the fixture — that check is free.

Frequently asked

What size part does the Mongtec SK100(MZ) clamp?

SK100(MZ) covers a clamping range of 16-100 mm on the outside diameter. Within that range the clamping module absorbs up to ±0.5 mm of workpiece variation, which is what makes it suitable for automatic loading.

Does SK100(MZ) fit my spindle?

The fixture body is standard; the connection to your machine is made through a flange matched to your spindle nose. Tell Mongtec the machine and spindle nose and the correct flange is quoted with the fixture.

How long does a changeover take on SK100(MZ)?

The rubber clamping module is replaced without removing the fixture from the spindle — a matter of seconds rather than a re-setup. Changing to a different clamping range means changing the module, not the fixture.
