Mongtec BMT42/64 Driven Tool Holders

BMT42/64 is the turret mounting used on a large part of the DMG MORI ALC, ALX, NZ and NTX ranges. It is not one of the BMT45/55/65/75/85 sizes — a standard BMT holder will not bolt to it. The same model can have a different turret. Every one of these models also exists in a BMT40 build. The model number alone does not tell you which turret you have — the same ALX2500 can be BMT40 or BMT42/64. This is exactly the case where ordering against the model name goes wrong. Send the machine model and a photograph of the turret face — Mongtec engineering checks it against the actual turret drawing before quoting. That check is free and takes one email.

Is BMT42/64 the same as BMT65?

No. BMT42/64 is a distinct turret mounting. A standard BMT holder of any size will not bolt to it, which is why it needs a dedicated holder family. BMT is an industry de-facto standard, not published by ISO or DIN, so sizes outside the common BMT45/55/65/75/85 set are normal rather than unusual.
