A shrink-fit chuck holds the tool by thermal interference — the bore is heated to expand, the shank goes in, and the metal closes on it as it cools. There is no collet, no nut and no moving part, which is why it gives the slimmest profile and the best runout of any holder. Mongtec builds them on every common taper, in 4.5° standard, 4.5° through-coolant and 3° slim forms.
| 4.5° standard | The main range, all tapers |
|---|---|
| 4.5° with coolant | Through-spindle coolant; article number ends in K |
| 3° slim | Slimmer nose for deep cavity and close-wall work |
| Shrink extensions, 3° | Added reach without changing the holder |
| Modular shrink chuck | Interchangeable shrink heads on one base |
| Shrink ER collet and extension | Where an ER interface is still wanted |
| Shrink chuck tapers and sets | BT / SK / HSK, standard and coolant |
| Shrink fit machine | The induction unit itself |
