Swiss-type (sliding headstock) lathes hold their tooling in fixed positions on a gang or comb layout rather than in a rotating turret. Each position is machine-specific: the holder body, the mounting face and the drive coupling are defined by the machine builder, which is why a Swiss-type holder is identified by the builder's own reference code rather than by a BMT or VDI size.
MSC507 is a driven position — the tool spindle turns at 1:1 to the machine's live-tool drive, up to 10,000 rpm. Usable speed is whichever is lower: this rating or your machine's drive rating.
