FAQ

Which turret interface do Gildemeister lathes use?
It depends on the machine, not on the brand. Across the 79 Gildemeister models documented on this site the published interfaces are: VDI30 on 66 models (such as CTX 200, CTX 200 Serie 2, CTX 310 V1); VDI40 on 61 models (such as CTX 400 Serie 2, CTX gamma 1250, CTX gamma 1250 TC); VDI25 on 2 models (such as Twin 42, Twin 65); VDI50 on 2 models (only CTX 500 E V3, CTX beta 2000). A further 2 models are not yet published with an interface and are confirmed per configuration at RFQ. Some models appear under more than one interface because the same designation ships with different turret options. Send the model designation and turret station count and Mongtec engineering confirms it against the actual turret drawing.
Some models are listed as VDI30 or VDI40 — which is it?
Both are listed deliberately. Where the published data covers a family with more than one turret option, this page shows every option rather than guessing a split. The actual interface is confirmed against your machine's turret drawing at RFQ — send the model designation and turret station count.
Will a Mongtec driven tool holder fit my Gildemeister turret?
Mongtec supplies on the same open machine-side standards Gildemeister turrets use — BMT face-and-taper, VDI polygonal shank to DIN 69880, and PSC polygon coupling to ISO 26623. Because BMT is an industry de-facto standard rather than an ISO or DIN standard, fitment is confirmed per machine: send the model designation and turret station count (a photo of the turret face or the machine spec sheet helps) and Mongtec engineering confirms it against the actual turret drawing before quoting.
My Gildemeister model is not in the list above — can you still supply?
In most cases yes. The list covers models already documented by Mongtec; it is not the limit of what Mongtec can supply. Custom and special-configuration units are a standard part of the work, and Mongtec supplies turret interfaces beyond the article numbers published on this site. Send the model designation and turret station count and engineering will confirm.
Do you supply static holders and boring bar holders as well as driven tools?
Yes. Static turning, boring bar, facing, cut-off and blank holders are supplied on the same turret interfaces as the driven units, alongside quick-change tooling and angle heads.
What quality documentation ships with the tooling?
Every driven unit ships with an individual inspection report for that specific unit — measured values, not a generic batch certificate.
What is the lead time?
Mongtec does not publish a blanket lead time. It is confirmed according to the items and quantities the customer requests, once interface, quantity and any customisation are reviewed. Request a quote for a project-specific answer.
Does Mongtec repair driven tools from other brands used on Gildemeister machines?
Mongtec's Taiwan service centre works on driven tool holders and angle heads. Whether a specific third-party brand and model is covered is confirmed case by case on request.

Turret interfaces across the GILDEMEISTER range

Turret interfaces for the 9 GILDEMEISTER models on this page are confirmed at RFQ. Published machine-builder specifications do not state the interface consistently enough for us to print it here, and printing a guess would be worse than printing nothing — a holder ordered against a wrong interface does not mount.

What we need to quote a GILDEMEISTER machine

Three things get you a firm quote: the machine model and year, a photograph of the turret face, and the tools you intend to run (drill and tap sizes, or end mill diameter). Anything you do not know we work out from the machine model — an incomplete enquiry is still worth sending, and the interface check costs you nothing.

Why we will not sell against a label. BMT is an industry de-facto standard, not an ISO or DIN published one, so bolt circle, key position and drive coupling can differ between machine builders at the same nominal size. VDI shanks follow DIN 69880, but pocket depth, clamping system and drive coupling still vary. We check the article number against the actual turret drawing before quoting, which is why a holder from us arrives and mounts.
