HSK-T is the turning variant of the HSK taper. It keeps HSK's hollow short taper and face contact — so the holder locates on two surfaces at once and repeats to a few microns — but the drive slots are cut for the static, one-directional loads of turning rather than the reversing torque of milling. On a turning centre or a mill-turn machine with an HSK-T interface, that means a turning tool can be changed automatically, in the same way a milling holder is, instead of being bolted to a block and re-dialled.
The practical gain is setup time. A shop running mixed lots changes the whole turning tool, pre-set offline, and the machine finds the same cutting-edge position every time. The taper does the alignment, not the operator.

No. The taper and flange dimensions match, but the drive slot geometry differs: HSK-A is cut for the reversing torque of milling, HSK-T for the steady one-directional load of turning. An HSK-A holder should not be substituted into an HSK-T station.
It is the taper's nominal flange diameter in millimetres, the same convention as HSK-A. HSK-T100 therefore has a 100 mm flange.
