OD static holders clamp turning tools for outside-diameter work — the non-driven stations of the turret, matched to the same bolt pattern as the driven holders. Mongtec Precision, a Taiwanese tooling brand headquartered in Taichung, Taiwan, supplies them to mount on SMEC turrets.

Mongtec publishes static OD turning holders for 18 SMEC machine models. On these machines the holder is used for holding square-shank turning, facing, grooving and parting tools for outside-diameter work. Article numbers are matched to the machine at RFQ — we confirm the turret interface from the builder’s drawing rather than assume it from the model name.
