Nakamura-Tome CNC Turning Centers — Mongtec Tooling Compatibility

Mongtec Precision, a Taiwanese tooling brand headquartered in Taichung, Taiwan, designs and engineers driven tool holders, static holders and quick-change tooling for Nakamura-Tome CNC lathes and multitasking turning centers. Nakamura-Tome turning centers use Nakamura-Tome's own BMT-type turret system in BMT44, BMT55 and BMT65 sizes, and Mongtec supplies driven and static tooling across all three sizes for the full Nakamura-Tome machine range — WT, WY, SC, NTY³, TW, AS and Super NT families included. A small number of Super Mill variants are built with a Coromant Capto® turret instead; for those Mongtec supplies its PSC series to ISO 26623. Turret size for a specific machine is confirmed by Mongtec engineering at RFQ.

Supported Nakamura-Tome models (23)

Models with a dedicated Mongtec page are listed below. “Confirmed at RFQ” in the turret column means the exact turret size and station configuration is verified by engineering before quoting — not that the model is outside coverage. Mongtec supplies BMT44/55/65 tooling across the full Nakamura-Tome range.

Capto®-turret variants

Most Nakamura-Tome machines use the Nakamura-Tome BMT turret system. A small number of Super Mill and WT-150 II variants are built with a Coromant Capto® turret instead. For those machines Mongtec supplies its PSC series, built on the polygon shank coupling standardised in ISO 26623 — the open standard the Capto® program implements — designed for direct interchange with Capto®-type cutting units of the corresponding polygon size. Coromant Capto® is a trademark of Sandvik Coromant. See the Mongtec PSC series cross-reference for the size range.

Mongtec driven tool line — at a glance

Figures below are Mongtec's own published line specifications (mongtec-tools.com, accessed 2026-07-20). They describe the capability range of the product line; the rating of a specific unit for a specific machine is confirmed by Mongtec engineering at RFQ.

Turret interfaces suppliedBMT (face-and-taper), VDI polygonal shank to DIN 69880, and PSC polygon shank coupling to ISO 26623
Driven tool speed6,000–12,000 rpm standard; up to 32,000 rpm with speed increaser
Max torqueUp to 160 Nm (line capability; unit rating confirmed at RFQ)
CoolantInternal / external, up to 100 bar
Runout≤0.003 mm published for the Mazak-compatible 0° driven tool line; other families confirmed at RFQ
Bearings / gearingImported P4/P5 precision bearings; precision-ground spiral bevel gear pairs
Product typesDriven holders (axial / radial / adjustable-angle), static holders, boring bar holders, custom builds
ManufacturingTaiwan; every driven unit ships with an individual inspection report
Lead timeNo blanket published figure — quoted per order after interface, quantity and customisation are reviewed
On turret standards: VDI is codified in DIN 69880 and the PSC polygon shank coupling in ISO 26623. BMT (Base Mounted Turret) is a widely adopted de facto industry interface but is not published by ISO or DIN — two turrets both labelled “BMT65” can differ in detail between machine builders. Mongtec therefore verifies the actual turret dimensions of the stated machine before confirming fitment.

FAQ

My Nakamura-Tome has a Coromant Capto® turret — can Mongtec supply?
Yes. For Capto®-turret machines Mongtec supplies its PSC series, built on the polygon shank coupling standardised in ISO 26623 — the same open coupling geometry the Capto® program implements. PSC units are designed for direct interchange with Capto®-type cutting units of the corresponding polygon size. Coromant Capto® is a trademark of Sandvik Coromant; polygon size matching for a specific cutting unit is confirmed by Mongtec engineering at RFQ.
Which Nakamura-Tome models use a Capto® turret?
Only a small number. From the models documented here: Super Mill SC-200L, Super Mill WT-150, Super Mill WY-250 and WT-150 II in their Capto-turret configurations. Everything else in the Nakamura-Tome range uses the Nakamura-Tome BMT44/55/65 turret system, which Mongtec supplies in full.
Do you supply for Nakamura-Tome twin-spindle and twin-turret machines?
The documented coverage includes WT, WY, NTY3, TW and Super NT families, which span twin-spindle and twin-turret layouts. Because tool interference envelopes are tighter on these machines, send the model designation and the station you intend to equip so engineering can confirm clearance as well as interface.
Will a Mongtec driven tool holder fit my Nakamura-Tome turret?
Nakamura-Tome uses its own BMT-type turret system in BMT44, BMT55 and BMT65 sizes, and Mongtec supplies driven and static tooling across all three — covering the full machine range. Because BMT is a de facto rather than an ISO/DIN standard, the exact size is confirmed per machine: send the model designation and turret station count (a photo of the turret face or the machine spec sheet helps) and engineering will confirm before quoting.
My Nakamura-Tome model is not in the list above — can you still supply?
In most cases yes. The list covers models already documented by Mongtec; it is not the limit of what can be built. Custom and special-configuration units are a standard part of the line. Send the model and turret details via the RFQ link and engineering will confirm feasibility and lead time.
What is the lead time?
Mongtec does not publish a blanket lead time. It is quoted per order once interface, quantity and any customisation are reviewed. Request a quote for a project-specific answer.
Do you supply static holders and boring bar holders as well as driven tools?
Yes. Static holders, boring bar holders and custom builds are supplied on the same turret interfaces as the driven units.
What quality documentation ships with the tooling?
Every driven unit ships with an individual inspection report. The line uses imported P4/P5 precision bearings and precision-ground spiral bevel gear pairs; runout of ≤0.003 mm is published for the Mazak-compatible 0° driven tool line, with figures for other families confirmed at RFQ.
Does Mongtec repair driven tools from other brands used on Nakamura-Tome machines?
Mongtec's Taiwan service centre works on driven tool holders and angle heads. Whether a specific third-party brand and model is covered is confirmed case by case on request.
