A Weldon holder clamps a set screw against a ground flat on the tool shank. It is the most positive drive available — the tool cannot rotate in the bore no matter what the cut does — and that is why roughing cutters and high-feed mills are held this way.
The trade is concentricity: the screw pushes the shank sideways by design, so a side-lock holder always runs out more than a collet or a shrink fit. Rough in Weldon; finish in something concentric.
Putting that on an HSK-A taper is a deliberate combination. Weldon is the grip that handles the heaviest cuts, and HSK is the interface that stays put under them — face contact means the holder cannot creep out of the spindle as the load and the speed change. If you are going to rough hard, this is the pairing that holds its setting.
SLA (Weldon) — Ø6–50 mm, HSK50A to HSK100A, in standard lengths and to 160 mm. Above Ø25 mm the catalogue specifies two clamping screws rather than one, which spreads the load and keeps the shank straighter.
SLA K version — the same body with coolant channels added.
SLB (Whistle Notch) — the angled flat locks rotation and simultaneously pulls the tool back against the holder face, so it locates axially as well. Ø6–40 mm.
SEMC — dedicated coolant-channel holders, Ø16–40 mm, for solid cutters without internal coolant where the flow has to be guided down the outside to clear a deep pocket.

Because the two solve different problems. The side lock stops the tool turning in the holder; the HSK face contact stops the holder moving in the spindle. Heavy roughing attacks both, and this pairing answers both.
Enough to matter for finishing and not enough to matter for roughing. Mongtec does not publish a single figure because it depends on the tolerance of the tool shank. If the operation is finish-critical, use a collet, hydraulic or shrink-fit holder.
Identical geometry; the K version adds coolant channels. Choose K if your cutters have no internal coolant and you are cutting deep.
