PSC angle heads (Coromant Capto®) — C4, C5, C6, C8

Mongtec builds right-angle machining heads on the PSC polygon shank (ISO 26623, also known as Coromant Capto®) in sizes C4, C5, C6 and C8. These are built to order rather than held as catalogue items — the reach, head profile, output interface and stop arrangement are matched to the operation and the machine. Mongtec Precision is a Taiwanese brand, designed and engineered in Taichung, Taiwan.

Sizes built

PSC is a polygon taper-and-face interface standardised as ISO 26623. It clamps on the tapered polygon and the face together, which is what allows the same interface to be used on both turning and milling machines. Mongtec builds angle heads on the following sizes:

What the PSC shank changes

The polygon shank changes how the head is held, not what it does. Everything Mongtec publishes on BT and HSK angle heads — ER collet, DC chuck, FMB face-mill arbor and BT40 tool-holder outputs, fixed angles other than 90°, speed-changing and multi-output versions — can be built on a PSC shank.

Before a PSC angle head is quoted

A PSC angle head is quoted against three things: the exact PSC size and whether the machine uses a manual or automatic clamping unit, the stop arrangement that will carry the cutting torque, and the clearance the head body needs at the actual cutting position. Send the machine model and a photograph of the spindle or turret face and Mongtec engineering confirms all three before quoting.

Send your machine and PSC size — we confirm before quoting
