Every centre on this page is built on high-speed bearings with a special oil seal and is catalogued at max 0.002 mm run-out rather than the 0.003 mm of the standard series. What changes across the three is how fast they will actually turn.

Where the MSSH earns its price
The MSSH uses a high-speed precision bearing structure and a non-contact oil seal chosen for heat resistance as well as coolant exclusion. Both matter above 10,000 rpm: a contact seal at that surface speed generates heat in the seal lip itself, and heat in a tailstock centre is thermal growth pushed straight into the part.
The practical use is small-diameter, high-surface-speed work — Ø20 mm bore on the MT2 and MT3 sizes, Ø30 mm on MT4 and MT5. If you are running a 25 mm bar at 3,000 rpm, a standard centre is fine; if you are running 8 mm at 12,000, it is not.
Article numbers — dimensions in mm
Dimension symbols are the catalogue's own and refer to the dimension drawing printed for each series. Quote the series name together with the model number — the same model number is used in more than one series, so "MSNN 2601001" identifies a part and "2601001" on its own does not. A dash means the catalogue does not print a usable value for that cell; those are confirmed in writing at RFQ.

Frequently asked
What actually limits the speed of a live centre?
Bearing type and seal drag, and both end in the same place: heat. The catalogue r.p.m. figure is a maximum, and it assumes the workpiece weight stays within the same table row — a heavy part at the top speed loads the bearings in a way a light one does not.
Is 0.002 mm run-out guaranteed at full speed?
The catalogue states max 0.002 mm as the product specification. Confirm the operating condition (speed, workpiece weight, coolant pressure) with Mongtec in writing at RFQ if your process depends on holding it at the top of the range.
MSH or MSNH?
Both are catalogued at the same speeds and the same 0.002 mm. MSNH is positioned as the premium build. Where the two overlap in size, compare the dimension tables — the MSNH bodies are slightly different lengths, which can matter on a short-bed machine.
