Tailstock pressure is set by feel almost everywhere. Too little and the part rings, chatters and can climb out of the centre; too much and a slender part bows, the centre hole picks up, and the bearing life of the centre itself goes. Nobody measures it because there has been nothing to measure it with at the machine.
The MSR series is a rotating centre with a pressure display built into the body, reading in three bands — low, medium, high — shown by colour and marked on the product as 2SR, 3SR and 4SR. The operator sets the quill until the band is right for the part, and the next operator on the next shift sets it the same way.
Long slender shafts, thin-wall parts, anything where the finished diameter changes with how hard you push. It is also a training tool: a shop that has never quantified tailstock force gets a shared vocabulary for it in an afternoon.
Morse 2 to Morse 5, Ø50–94 mm head, max 0.003 mm run-out, in the same base / C / A / AC / AL / ALC variant scheme as the standard series.
Dimension symbols are the catalogue's own and refer to the dimension drawing printed for each series. Quote the series name together with the model number — the same model number is used in more than one series, so "MSNN 2601001" identifies a part and "2601001" on its own does not. A dash means the catalogue does not print a usable value for that cell; those are confirmed in writing at RFQ.

Source: Mongtec Precision Center catalogue, Ver 2026 (drive centres).
No. It reads in three bands — low, medium, high — identified by colour and by the 2SR / 3SR / 4SR product marking. It is a relative indication for setting the quill repeatably, not a calibrated force gauge.
It is mechanical and built into the centre body. Ask Mongtec for the service interval in writing at RFQ if the machine runs unattended.
Many shops do — set the band, note it on the setup sheet, and the next setup matches. Treat it as a repeatability aid rather than a measurement.
