The MSNN series is the standard centre with a nut on the body. Getting a live centre out of a tailstock quill that has been sitting in coolant is a job nobody enjoys; the nut gives a spanner flat to work against, so the centre detaches and reattaches without a puller and without hammering on a precision bearing stack. If your operators change centres often — different point angles for different jobs — this is the series that pays for itself.
MSW is described in the catalogue as the premium standard rotating centre. It carries a contactless seal in addition to the special oil seal. A contact seal wears; a labyrinth-style contactless seal does not touch, so it does not wear and it does not add drag. On a machine that floods coolant at pressure, or on a shop running lights-out where nobody is watching the tailstock, that second barrier is what keeps swarf out of the bearings for the life of the centre.
The MNSR variant inside the MSW range is the extended-head version. All MSW sizes cover Morse 3 to Morse 6.
